Its been forever since my last post and I only have myself to blame. Part of the reason was my job loss back in October and then just being busy at home with Emma I never thought to get on the computer for some reason. Funny how it takes me going back to work to think about updating Aidan and Emma's blogs. I will post pictures soon I just wanted to write some things down before I forget.
Let's see...Emma started crawling at 10 months, now at 11 months she is really crawling all over the place and pulling up. I know she will be crusing anytime. The days of me being able to leave her on our bed and not worry about her getting off are over! She will probably be running all over the place by the summer I'm sure. We are sooo still struggling with sleep at night and during the day. I think I am sleep deprived for sure. She was actually sleeping through the night around 6 months of age and then when she started crawling and pulling up she decided she was going to cry everytime she woke up. I did the "cry it out" with Aidan and it worked great for him, but for some reason I keep puttint it off with Emma. Aidan's crying broke my heart too, but Emma seems to have the different kind of hold over me! ha! I hope I can figure out something soon, I don't know how much more of no sleep I can take.
The best part of having 2 little ones is watching the interaction between the two of them. Emma is finally starting to really interact with Aidan and vice versa. Aidan will talk to her in the car and sometimes will say things like" Emma watch this or Emma look" and will make a funny face or do something silly and I will hear her chuckle. She really watches his every move and definitely trys to mimick him.
okay, all for now. I will download some pics and video asap! :)

9 months old and a new year
I have been so slack in updating both my babies blogs. It sounds crazy but I had so much more time and energy to blog when I had a job. To update everyone if you don't know I lost my job back in October and am still on the job hunt, I've had some promising interviews but waiting to hear back from those potential employers, we'll see. So, in the meantime I have been a SAHM to Emma while looking for a job, some of you may think this sounds like the life of leisure, well I'm here to say, YEAH RIGHT. Even though Emma has not started crawling yet, she can still get around where she wants to go and if she gets her way she wants me to carry her there on my hip. I'm so struggling with daytime naps with her, she seems to not need a nap or is content to sleep on me after nursing which I must admit I don't mind her doing from time to time, its relaxing for me as well. I certainly have enjoyed this time at home with her which is probably why she is so good at the naps! ha! She does great at night time, still getting up in the middle of the night to nurse, which the Ped. keeps telling me that she doesn't need that night time feeding anymore, but whatever I'm doing what feels right to me. She goes right back to sleep and doesn't get up until the morning so I don't see anything wrong with it. We had a good 9 month visit with just one shot, so not too traumatic, I usually nurse her immediately afterward and it calms her right down. One thing I realized recently is that I really have to make more time for myself doing something with friends. Its so difficult to do that when nursing, I plan to nurse for atleast a year or as long as Emma wants to, but I am ready for a little freedom too. She's fine taking a bottle during the day, well sometimes she has to do a little coaxing my MIL tells me, but its the night time nursing that I don't think she would do well without. We'll see I may try to do it soon. Here are some recent pics of my sweet girl, I have some video I am downloading to you tube that I would put on here soon as well.

8 months old
Wow, I can't believe my sweet girl is 8 months old. She is growing way to fast for me! She is sitting up pretty good and to my happiness that is all she is trying to do right now. I'm hoping she'll fall in her brothers footsteps and wait to crawl and walk until after her first birthday. we'll see....
She has started eating more lately. We recently went with my Dad on a trip to the mountains to get our Christmas tree and had so much fun. After we got our tree we went out to eat at this yummy country restaurant and Emma had her first taste of cornbread and loved it! I was so surprised at how well she was at picking up food. I have to keep reminding myself that she is old enough to eat some table foods, I keep thinking she is younger than she really is, but she was picking up that bread like a pro. So, I started giving her some more things like cheerios and puffs and she does great. I think she really likes eating with us at dinner time, I believe she was feeling left out before.
Today is huge though, I decided that I really needed to try to work with Emma on her naps and just lay her down which usually results in major crying. Today is Chris's day off from work so he was here to help keep me from going in there and it worked she is napping while I type. She cried on and off for about 30 minutes, but finally gave it up, yippee! Hopefully I can keep this up for her afternoon nap! I seem to have been worse with Emma than with Aidan when it comes to things like this, I guess its because this is my last baby and I'm hanging on to all the little things like snuggling and holding and rocking her. I'm sure to spoil her rotten! ha! well, here are some recent pictures of us on our Christmas tree trip and Thanksgiving at my Dad's and Aunt Bonnie's house the next day.

Here's a video of all the cousins together, we were attempting to take a picture of all of them together, it was too cute.

7 months
Emma is changing so much everyday, I can't believe she is already 7 months old. She has her 2 bottom teeth, loves to stand on my lap, and has almost mastered sitting up. She is so busy and very curious of her surroundings. She already seems to be doing things so much faster than I remember Aidan doing them. Even though its hard being at home and trying to look for a new job, I have also enjoyed our time together. I love spending some alone time with her just to snuggle, nurse, play and relax. She really is an easy going baby and already loves her brother and laughs at everything he does. Its really so sweet watching them together, esp. when they don't know I'm looking. We had our family pictures taken today and I think they turned out okay, I only got to see them briefly, so I can't wait to see them again and hope to find one that Chris and I both like. Here is a video I took of Emma today in her exersaucer, she really has so much fun in it.

6 month checkup
Emma finally had her 6 month checkup even though she will be 7 months on Monday. I can't believe she is almost 7 months old, isn't that crazy! I have really enjoyed the extra time I have gotten to spend with her, the circumstances are the best, but I am enjoying my extra mommy time anyways and looking for a job as well. I'm trying to stay optimistic about the whole job thing because that is me, I'm a very optimistic person and I know that something will work out eventually. :) Emma had a pretty good appt. except for the shots, ugh poor thing got the "snubs" as my cousin Julie likes to say! She also got this look of worry on her face for the first time with the dtr. she started sticking her bottom lip out as if to say I don't think I like you messing with me! She weighed in at 18 lbs, 9 oz and 28 1/4" long, which I think puts her in the 97% for height, but about 75% for weight. I went back and looked to see what Aidan was at 6 months and he was about the same, 18 lbs, 12 oz and 29 1/2" long. She is really starting to do more things lately, she really trying to sit up on her own, I've got a video of that below, I've also got a video of her trying some sweet potatoes for the first time too. Her two bottom teeth are really coming in now and she has started saying Dada, so I guess that is going to be her first word, Aidan's was Mama, so I know that is making Chris happy.
Its a rainy Saturday afternoon and the house is momentarily quiet. Aidan is taking a nap and Chris is downstairs rocking Emma to sleep. So, Momma has some time to herself to update blogs and surf the net and drink coffee, yum! It wont last long so I'm going to add the pictures and video while I have a chance.

Emma's new laptop
Emma saw Carter's new laptop and just had to have one herself! Well, Nana went out and got Emma and Aidan one to play with and I took some pictures of her checking it out. I also had some "neked" time on several blankets and she loved it and didn't have any accidents either. I took a few pictures of that as well. She is really starting to roll all over the place now. I have to be really careful where I put her now because she is on the move. She is wearing me out not sleeping lately, whew! I can't think straight half the time! I put her to bed and I go to bed and what feels like a few minutes really was an hour or two go by and she's up, I nurse her back to sleep make sure she doesn't need changing, fall back into bed and 2 hours later back up again and we repeat this until its really time to get up. All I can say is I'm sleepy! :) Here are some pictures.
Emma doing her daily sit ups! She is always trying to do this when I lay her on her back!

1 minivan, 1 tooth, 1 layoff...
Well, I can't believe what my MIL discovered yesterday! Emma has a tooth coming in! One of her bottom teeth has broken through the skin. How in the world did I miss this? I can't believe it, it makes sense now why she has been so cranky this last week or so and every time she would bite down on something she would scream. I just thought she was getting frustrated at the toy she was playing with, man I need to pay more attention. But, then again I have been consumed with other things going on in my life. I recently got my notice at my job and my last day is in two weeks. So, needless to say I'm not happy about this and I'm not sure what I'm going to do next. Of course I am sending out resumes and starting the job hunt, but I dread it all. On the other hand, I am looking forward to spending a little quality time with Emma while I'm searching for a new job. I keep trying to tell myself these things happen for a reason and hopefully something even better will come along. ugh! I just need to win the lottery! ha!
I swear I going to post some new pictures of Emma soon. I've just got to get myself together. One good thing did happen recently, we got Honda Odyssey and I love it and my car payment is cheaper too, which is a real good thing right now.
Emma is getting so big, we had her pictures taken at the Vanderveens on Wednesday and she was so cute smiling and laughing. I can't wait to see the pics again, they showed them to me briefly and as usual I'm going to have a tough time deciding! While I was there I picked up some pictures from our last visit and wow she has changed so much, she doesn't even look like the same baby. Its amazing how much they change in their first year, job or no job I am getting her pictures done a few more times this year. I can't not get her pictures made ya know! She loves being naked, we did some pics with her in the buff and they crack me up with her little rolls! I need to get a "naked blanklet" like my sister has for Carter so Emma can roll around and move easier, I know she would love it. I still can't believe my baby has a tooth and she just turned 6 months, isn't that early, seems early to me. Aidan had his around 7-8 months. Oh well, hopefully this isn't a sign that she's going to do everything early, yikes!
